Kenneth Henry Meyer, age 82, passed away on February 15,
2011 at the Charlotte Regional
Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday,
February 21, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will
officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose
Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at
Roseberry's Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m.
Kenneth was born December 4, 1928 in Kenosha, Wisconsin the
Son of William and Josephine Meyer. Ken married Alice Ann
Taff on August 11, 1951 in Kenosha, they had three children
Mitch, Karla and Barbara.
Ken graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha
in 1946. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean
War, and was a lifelong member of the American Legion and
Both Ken and his brother Bob proudly farmed Mink for over 45
years. Prior to retiring Ken and Alice lived in Somers, WI
until 1974. Then, spent 20 years on the farm in Darien, WI
before splitting time between homes in Dellwood, WI and
Punta Gorda, FL.
He believed in the Catholic Church and rarely missed a
Mass. Ken and Alice loved to travel and did so as health
permitted. More than anything Ken was a social person who
loved to be around family and friends. Ken enjoyed his
friends at the coffee shop and American Legion in both Punta
Gorda and Dellwood. Along with his Wisconsin friends at
Ole’s, Spot in the Woods, and Lyons Club in his late years.
Dad loved to dance and rarely missed an opportunity to do
so. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, golfing and
boating. He was a devoted and loving Father and Grandfather
and will be dearly missed.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Alice
who passed away October 21, 1998 and his Sister in Law,

Loving Companion: Mary Jo Rude and her daughter Debbie Jo
Hill of Punta Gorda, Florida
Seven Grandchildren: Tony Meyer, Patrick Meyer, Amanda
Gutche, Justin Gutche, Travis Gutche, Ryan
Hughes and Sarah Hughes.
Brother in Law: Gerald (Alice) Taff
Nieces and Nephews: Roberta (Mike) Glembocki, Christine
Meyer, Carol (Gary) Nelson, David (Shelly) Taff and Paul (Karie)
Taff and many great nieces and nephews.
